New York Mets Citi Field Minor Parking-Gate

Baseball fans may be able to afford the high prices, but regular commuters are furious with the hikes at the Roosevelt Avenue lot.

"It's unbelievable...you just eliminated a commuter parking lot...this isn't promoting mass transit," a commuter tells 1010 WINS.

The parking rates are hiked on game days to $18 or the "event" rate; these hikes go into effect at 3 a.m. for day games and at 9:30 a.m. for night games. On "non-event" days the parking rate is $4.

On days when there is a sell-out crowd or for "big" games the "event" rate is in play all day.

The Mets say they have received complaints from commuters and are now re-evaluating the 9:30 a.m. start time for the night game "event" rate.

My take, it should always be $4 to park anyway.

If You're Visiting For The First Time

If you are visiting The Mets Police for the first time, welcome.

This blog aims to be a little different. We're less likely to complain about a pitching change than we are likely to complain about what the pitcher was wearing.

We're about Mets history and tradition. We'd like to see a Seaver statue at Citi Field. We'd like the black uniforms to go away. We'd like the team to always treat the fans with respect.

We're just regular old Mets fans like you who have migrated from the uppers to the Promenade where we were saddened when we found plexiglass. Finally, for all our complaining we just want the franchise to win the World Series (while nicely dressed).

The site is updated several times a day, usually morning, noon, and night (cliche but true) with other items as they come in.
