Late But....Congratulations Rays!

Been up to my ears in Yankee Stadium, Mets Policing and Fighting the good fight against PSL's...so I haven't had time to congratulate the Rays.   The Rays who don't have overpaid free agents from Boston, or dopey black uniforms (that I know of) and play scrappy baseball.

I openly crib my Rays knowlegde from these guys - so hook them up with a click and a link:

How the Rays Got There

Interesting...thanks to Rays Index for the info below.  Also thanks to Tampa Bay Sports Blog for checking in.  Nice to have Rays friends.  Maybe we can fight in late October.

Need Help From Rays Fans

Hey Rays guys (Tampa Bay Sports Blog, you out there?) -

I'm a big believer in home grown talent.  I believe most of your roster is either home grown or "our GM is smarter" (see Keith Hernandez 1983 and Scott Kazmir).

Would one of you be able to break out the roster, at least the starting 9 and the rotation by how they got there?   I don't see anything on google and I'm too lazy to do the homework.

The Mets have spent the better part of the last decade with Braves, Red Socks, Dodgers and Cylons - and once they started playing guys named Wright and OverReyes and UnderReyes and Evans and Murphy (and soon Niese) things got a little bit better.

Hit comments and I'll spin it into it's own post.  Thanks!

Mets Police Gets Some Tampa Love

We got some love from the Tampa Bay Sports Blog which is where I crib some of my Rays obsession notes....so click the blue underline and thank them from us, and keep on the latest Scott Kazmir news.

Speaking of the Rays who figured out that home grown talent and fleecing dopey teams of your pitchers is a great way to win, the same blog tells us MLB put the Rays in a commercial!

Just think, this time next year the Rays will be defending the AL East title while Hank Steinbrenner's Yankees play across the street from the ghosts.  Welcome to Century 21 everyone.
