The Mets Police

First off lets get something very clear - I am a Mets jersey snob. I go to games for 2 reasons, the Mets and to look around at what people wear to the park. And to be truthful people, it's usually a horror show. The cheeseball factor at Met games is off the charts. Mets Police and I probably talked about bad jerseys at Met games more than cute girls at Shea as teens. Okay maybe 51% to 49% girls versus jerseys but you know what I am getting at. If we said 'whoa' it was almost a toss up between cutechick or abomination Mets apparel.


I guess it was the late 80's or so when MLB finally wised up and began to market and produce items for the public that were a pretty good facsimile of what was being worn on the field and were priced for consumption. I never remember as a 10 year old seeing 'real' looking jerseys. Were these even sold to the public?? If anyone knows please feel free to comment.


Ebay in the last 10 years is probably to blame for some of the horrors I have witnessed at Shea these past years. I LOVE Ebay and have bought many items on it but honestly - they also put out for sale jerseys that offend even blind and deceased Mets fans.

Break out the shades for this one - the only good thing about this is it isn't black, but that isn't really giving this jersey the thumbs up. And it's made by Nike?? Isn't that a real company?? Who would wear this? Awful. Has a but it now price of $34.95. Now I understand some people don't have the money for 'real' looking stuff but this is not the way to go. Mets.com was pushing the following as a 'must have' a few months back. Green Mets jersey. Are you Irish? Are you a Celtics/Jets/Packers fan? Problem with the Mets is they pushed this jersey non stop online and then on St. Patrick's day in spring training - they didn't wear green. Nice move guys. Buy this jersey because it is cheap ($19.99) but only wear it to Irish Night, doing yard work or if everyone you know is colorblind and won't know the diff.

Attention MLB and Majestic sportswear - this is an item made in a sweatshop and an authentic label is being put on it and being hawked as MLB certified. It's not. This one will trick some poor soul into laying out cash and they will be laughed at by me. An there's a pink hanger in the shot. If you are selling crap at least TRY to make it not look cheesy.
