Yankees To Raise Ticket Prices In 2010?

SS

While this is not a shock at all, the timing seems poor.   Better to sneak this out there in November.

TicketNews.com (reliable?) says the NYY's will raise tickers 4% in 2010.

I'm wondering if this is a made up story to get people to visit their ticket website...so no link from me, you'll need to google yourself.

I believe that the increase was a targeted plan before the season started and is not official. I really doubt that it is still on the table. They have to deal with the disaster they created for this year first. Think about this, that a high ranking official or officials thought that human beings would pay $2600 to go to a regular season baseball game!

The same 4% increase was mentioned here: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/22/sports/baseball/22tickets.html

PS- RE: Somers from the other day--my mistake, I didn't realize that he'd been harping on the point. And I'm still surprised that he'd do that.
