David Howard: I Would Have Thought We'd Be Sold Out By Now (New York Mets)

SS

And here comes the mainstream media....the Star-Ledger today printed an article Will the NY Mets Slide...lead to drop in attendance.

The money quote is from my favorite Mets executive, David Howard:

"If you would have asked me a year and a half ago, 'Do you think you'll be proactively selling in July?' I'd say, 'I don't think so.' I would have thought that we'd be sold out for the season by now. But we're not, I think largely because of the economy.
"As opposed to people coming to us and us taking orders, we have to go out and get them."

The article talks about the Stubhub market, the unsold inventory, and that the Mets are the 4th most expensive ticket behind the Bronx, Fenway and Wrigley.   Worth a read and like the Brooklyn Dodgers used to say, "Wait 'til next year!"
