The Idea Of Trading Sheffield (Newsday)

SS

Who would've thought....July 8th and we're all entertaining realistic discussions of dismantling the team.

Unfortunately, trading Sheffield and Livan make lots of sense.

To me, giving Jon Niese 15 starts regardless of what happens makes a lot of sense too.

(Yes I see the Dykstra news...that's not what I do around these parts.  I enjoy being crankypants but I don't get into the various Shamsky/Dykstra/LoDuca personal life type stuff.)

I want Ollie to either throw a no-hitter or give up 9 in the first inning so we can all just release the pent up frustration.   Going 6 and giving up 4 runs is just boring.

It's getting really close to the point where a fan begins to root for the kind of disaster that's sure to force a major change.

Just as you're barely clinging to the hope of seeing the team break out of this funk and rally back into contention, they trot out Perez to remind you how hopeless it is that this front office will ever construct a winner.
