New Right Field Video Screen At Citi Field (I Think)

It's odd to me that I don't have complete command of every inch of Citi Field the way I did at Shea.

I believe this is new.  It is a video screen in right field, it was not active on Thursday afternoon.   We had been promised a new screen, thus my assumption.

It is above section 105 or so.

I did a 360 of the park today and did not notice any new "Mets stuff" with the possible exception of some baseball card thingies which I will post tomorrow.

That square on the right of this poorly taken photo is the screen from a different angle.

As I usually do, I took a bunch of pictures of the field and will share them in the upcoming days.  I like to save some stuff for slow days.  I can't count on an apology-week to get me through, especially if the team is going to be 10 games back.

that monitor is new...it was not there before...now they have to do an out of town scoreboard above the promenade in right field

I was at tonight's game wondering what that black board was. Not operational yet.

The baseball cards aren't new; they are on the Empire Suite Level (200's) and have been there all season. I know because I sat in a suite in May.

What I did notice about the cards, though, walking down the hallways, was something really cool. I saw a blowup of a card that was from Topps '93 (around the end of my collecting days), then next to it was a Topps '92, then a '91, etc. Basically, every Topps set from 62-08 is represented, in order, with no Met appearing on the wall more than once. Excellent job on that.

It's interesting where they placed this video screen in RF. I'm not sure who it helps. It doesn't even look at that big - is that for the 1B umpire? I sit 2 levels above it sometimes (I'll be there Sunday), and it certainly wont' be helping me see into the RF corner. I can just add the screen to my list of obstructions from sec 405.

what kind of radiation to you think is eminating from a video screen of that size. I wouldnt want to be sitting or standing near it. why doesnt someone take a gauss meter out there and record the levels.
