Recap Of Amazin' Tuesday

SS

Osh41 took on the duties of representing the Mets Police at Amazin' Tuesday last night at Two Boots.   This was the cool event put on by the guys from Faith and Fear (Greg Price) and Mets By The Numbers....Kranepool Society was there, and the cool Uni Watch was.

Osh41 who is too lazy to write this article himself did email me:

Quiz was very challenging. It covered uniform numbers, styling, common 'threads' among numbers etc.

Two Boots - great pizza and Yeungling on tap - excellent combo. A Terry Leach 89 card got me a free pint.  Great readings by Mets fans of Mets by the Numbers guy and Greg Prince.

Had a nice time. Split the prize with a young man who shouldn't know this much about Mets minutiae.  Young guy like him should be partying more, chasing broads etc.

Osh gave the Mets Police some street cred by either winning or tying in the trivia contest (seems like there were some scoring disputes), but he did let me down by fumbling a question involving Kelvin Torve and the #24.  I would've nailed that one.  I will give him credit for dressing like an adult.

Hopefully there will be more nerd-fests like this one (I say that lovingly, I'll remind you I'm a loser that writes about the team all day 7 days a week).   Don't forget, Comic-Con started as 30 guys in a basement.

I'm starting to really look for to the 50th Anniversary Conference Thingy At Hofstra - haven't heard any updates on that in a while, but I'd like to speak at it.  I have an idea for a powerpoint involving annoying things over the years (here's Dave Magadan's who hit .328 in 1990 giving up 25 starts to Garry Templeton in 1991).

you know that 50th anniversary at Hofstra isn't for another 2+ years, don't you? there's time for all of our ideas (I got a few of my own).
