Touring Citi Field: Outside, Third Base Side

As we continue our walk around Citi Field, we're on the outside on the third base side.

One of the things the Mets got right was hanging player banners outside.  I think they were a little quick to put Santana in this class - sure he's good, but I think a player should be here for a while before gettung the honor.

Will the big 2010 free agent get a banner?

Look at that Orosco pose (second banner down) - wouldn't that make a great statue?

This is a poor photo of the Gil Hodges banner but it brings up a major point in my Mets Policing.

My son asked me "who is that?"

No banner, he doesn't ask the question.

Since he did, he got a quick lesson in 1969 and who Gil was and why he matters.

That's why I think they should hang tons and tons of player banners around the place (inside) like the Cubs did.

Another great font.   Very 60's.

I have found the ticket windows much easier to deal with than they were at Shea.   Also notice the big walk-up crowd.  This was for the day game against the Cardinals.
