New item at mlb.com - Italian heritage caps.

Kinda cool - for civilians. The actual Mets should always take the field wearing blue hats with an orange NY (and preferably a blue button on top).

why not one for other back grounds Blue and White fore the Jewish State of Isreal. and green for irish people.

Ron,
The Mets are currently selling nine(9) hats, 7 Caps & 2 Beanies, reflecting Irish heritage. It is within reason to believe this Italian Heritage cap is being sold now because Columbus Day is just around the corner.
I would assume Isreali heritage is not normally saluted or recognized because it played no part in the forming of the nation, and there is no day set aside in the USA that directly recognizes that heritage, such as St. Patricks Day & Columbus Day.

If you are visiting The Mets Police for the first time, welcome.

This blog aims to be a little different. We're less likely to complain about a pitching change than we are likely to complain about what the pitcher was wearing.

We're about Mets history and tradition. We'd like to see a Seaver statue at Citi Field. We'd like the black uniforms to go away. We'd like the team to always treat the fans with respect.

We're just regular old Mets fans like you who have migrated from the uppers to the Promenade where we were saddened when we found plexiglass. Finally, for all our complaining we just want the franchise to win the World Series (while nicely dressed).

The site is updated several times a day, usually morning, noon, and night (cliche but true) with other items as they come in.
