Hey football teams..  Y'all got greedy and wiped out your season ticket waiting lists.  Reap what you sow.

This went out today as an email from the  PSL Giants.

The excitement for the new stadium is growing. The first event will take place on April 10th, when six NCAA lacrosse teams will play a triple-header tournament known as the "Big City Classic", Bon Jovi's "Kickoff Concerts" are scheduled from May 26-29, just six months away, and U2 returns July 19th. Just nine months separate us from the historic start of the Giants' 2010 inaugural season at the new Giants stadium.

Just after Thanksgiving, a major milestone in our transition to the new stadium will occur; PSL holders will receive their seat assignments and agreements. The PSL sales process is now in its final stages, and we are only about 500 new accounts away from selling out.

While our records show you have not yet purchased PSLs, we remain hopeful that you will consider joining us in the new Giants stadium. With over 75,000 seats committed to over 20,800 accounts, the response from the Giants community has been overwhelmingly positive. As you know, all non-Club seating areas in the new Giants stadium are soldout. At the present time, less than 2,000 Club Seats remain available for purchase. In fact, less than 400 Coach's Club seats and 200 Mezzanine Club C PSLs remain available. If you purchase, you will have access to the best seats, the best parking, and the best food and drink options available anywhere. Here are your options:

I did not realize that the Evil Money Grubbing Football Giants From New Jersey played their final game at Yankee Stadium mid-season...and apparently a tie!  They finished the season at the Yale Bowl.  Weird, right?  35 years later the Giants would sell their soul to the devil by screwing their fans with PSL's - and creating the Curse of The PSL's which forbids the Giants from ever winning the Super Bowl until New Meadowlands is torn down.

The teams are sharing the stadium costs 50-50. That's $800 million each. Each team received $150 million from the NFL's stadium fund that is repaid with the visiting team's share of the club box revenue. That brings the number down to $650 million per team.

The fan backlash has been understandable and predictable. Each team, after taxes, will generate $175 million from the PSLs. That brings the stadium price tag down to $475 million per team.

The naming rights estimate: The final number will be $30 million per year. Over a 20-year period, that raises another $300 million per team, bringing it down to $175 million per team. Sponsorships further defray the cost.

Myers does a good job asking the greatest question of them all: Why do they even need a new stadium?

Given the choice between staying in Giants Stadium or paying the PSLs and increased ticket prices, one longtime (his family's tickets go back to 1964 inYankee Stadium) season ticket holder told me it's an easy choice.

"I would stay in Giants Stadium," he said. "There is nothing wrong with it. Sometimes the access roads and the parking is messy, but that's only because they are building a new stadium. Every seat is terrific, it's not in disrepair, there is enough restroom facilities.

"I sit in my seat the beginning of the game and don't get up until the game is over. My friends go to the bathroom at halftime and get back in time for the kickoff."

I think Mushnick has the best idea of them all....no matter what the stadium is offically names, everyone should call it PSL Stadium.  That will make the naming rights useless.   I'm in.

Jonathan Tisch, co-owner of the Evil Money Grubbing Giants From New Jersey, the team that needs to charge you $20,000 for a PSL, has bought a Manhattan apartment for $48 million.

The Giants presently play in a crumbling stadium and are unable to compete financially in the present-day NFL.

In other Giants news, they have decided not to have a Nazi themed stadium name and have ended negotiations with Allianz.

With the exception of Phil Mushnick (of course) the mainstream media has more or less been giving The Giants a free pass on the PSL's.

The Times finally got around to it today, with a great piece - although I feel like I write the same thing a month ago ("Open Letter To..." over there on the left side of the website).

Anyway, it's good to have more people fighting the good fight.

For the record I don't have Giants tickets, nor am I a fan.  It's just wrong.

Today the Times wrote about this ghuy:

He is 75, a former union lithographer, a gourmet cook by avocation, a passionate sports fan who is furious at the fan-gouging sports world in general and the Giants in particular, with good reason. He is one of the die-hards who got into Yankee Stadium 40 years ago, followed his team to the Yale Bowl and Shea Stadium and stayed in, for the last 32 in Giants Stadium, without complaint.

“There is nothing wrong with the place we’ve been playing in,” Palma said. “Why the heck did we have to move in the first place?”
