First, Jeff Wilpon mentions he'd like the Winter Classic at Citi Field (damn a year later and I still almost typed "Shea").

Second, the Mets use the first few minutes of a Mets press conference to have Rod Gilbert show up with a hockey jersey.

Disconnect: If I remember correctly from the other day, Jeff Wilpon mentioned the Islanders were prtety interested.  I don't see the NHL agreeing to Rangers-Islanders.

That was so bizarre.  Maybe it's some part of a mass-distraction strategy.  Keep me looking at the hockey jersey instead of nitpicking David Howard's words.
