New York Mets Trade Ryan Church For Jeff Francouer

Went for pizza, came back and wow - Ryan Church (who Jerry clearly didn't like) is gone, and Jeff Francouer is in.   Francoeur is 25, with .250 5 and 35.   Jeff joins the team tomorrow.

UPDATE:  see NY post for more:

"We were able to get a right-handed hitter and Golden Glove right fielder in a big ballpark like ours," GM Omar Minaya said. "Some consider him the best defensive right fielder in baseball."

Oh, great. Yet another player whom we hope experiences a rebirth in Queens.

This is not a bad trade on paper, but when a team ahead of you in your own division tells you, "You know, we'd feel better if he was playing on your side," that's not exactly encouraging.
