Touring Citi Field: Beer at Big Apple Brews!

SS

I recently attended a weekday daygame with my kid, and with camera in hand, did a 360 of Citi Field at around noon.   You'll find various posts on the Mets Police if you keep scrolling down.

Today we have made it to center field, and having previously sampled the Taqueria (best food choice in the park. Short line.  Shea-k Shack is nice but Tacos are better and quicker).   Here we find the beer at Big Apple Brews!.

All beers are $7.50, not awful for a stadium..(go pay $11 in the Bronx)...and choices include:

Becks, Kirin, Stella, Rolling Rock, whatever Tiger Beer is, Red Hook and plenty others.   Ironically nothing from the Brooklyn Brewery seems to be offered.  Fred must be sleeping.

Back in April, Dan met the guy who runs the place...and Dan did more sampling than we did.

Big Apples Brews is operated by AB-In-Bev so there is no way they would allows Brooklyn Brewery to serve there.

Fortunately the Mets have a Brooklyn tap going at the Frite stand and a Blue Point tap going at the Catch of the Day.

Big Apple Brews is inappropriately named, and done so to "appear" localized.

Shake Shack has a Brooklyn Brewery Special Beer called "Shack Meister Ale". Awesome beer!

These look like 12oz beers. The $11 beers at yankee stadium are 22oz. Price per once yankees have a better deal.
