Pictures of the 1982 Mets Yearbook (Part 3)

Here's some more fun from the 1982 Yearbook....that grainy photo on the left shows some sort of promotion related to whatever King Korn was....

That's from this section of the yearbook which is a great recap of the first 20 years of the franchise.  Unfortunately for you I take blurry photos and post them sideways.   No excuses here.

Here are some Mets who are on their way.  I have my money on that tall fellow Darryl in the middle of the back row.  I'm not too sure about the rest of these guys.   Next week we'll look at the 1983 yearbook to see if he is in it...but tomorrow, it's the 1978 yearbook.

Pictures of the 1982 New York Mets Yearbook (Part 2)

Remain calm Mets fans, there's no reason to be alarmed.  This is the medical team from 1982 not 2009.

What's with that white jacket?

I posted this on New Years Eve in the teaser post but it's still fun.  What kind of jersey is Neil Allen wearing?  I like it, but since it's Yankee-like and I don't want to listen to Yankee fans I won't vote for it to return.

From the back page, here's some Active Sportwear you could have purchased way back when.   I guess white was all the rage back in '82.

More tomorrow...then I'll either post the 1983 yearbook or the 1977.  Not sure yet.

Pictures of the 1982 New York Mets Yearbook (Part 1)

Happy New Year!  This morning we take a look back to the 1982 Mets yearbook.   By George we got it!   George Bamberger has a good baseball pedigree, and George Foster recently hit 50+ home runs for the Reds without taking steroids!

The blue, orange and you pinstriped look was getting a little shaky by the early 80's...the nameplates added some ugliness.

I like this blue uniform look.  Since sales is an issue with the black jerseys (our first of many black uniform complains of the new year), why not retire them and sell blue ones in 2011?

Here's a young fellow named Wally Backman.  If I didn't stink at taking pictures his face wouldn't be obscured by glare.

Kids, you know that scary Mike Scott fellow from the 1986 Astros.  He was a Met once, and he wasn't very good.   Yes, this is the same man.

That's it for the yearbook today - more from 1982 tomorrow, and more Mets stuff throughout the day on the normal morning/noon/afternoon/night schedule!

Tomorrow: Pictures of The 1982 Mets Yearbook

Cerrone really inspired me...I just took a bunch of pictures of my old yearbooks....

I grabbed 83, 78, some '93 scorecards....but tomorrow we'll visit the 1982 Mets yearbook for no reason other than that's the first one I picked up.

In the meantime, I ask you two questions:

1.  What is Neil Allen (#13) wearing?

2.  Do you think the Cardinals would be stupid enough to give us Keith Hernandez for him if we asked?
