Glad to see Metsradamus take a shot at the Mets Mecurial rain-out decision making process.   I've written about this a bunch of times this year, and don't always want to be the cranky guy.

Anybody travel all the way out there last night?

Sure glad they built three new stadiums in Metro NYC and nobody thought to have a retractable dome.

I'm actually surprised that the Mets rained out yesterday's game at 11:30am.  After all, it wasn't really raining.  I thought for sure that they would make everyone drive there, pay to park, and hey maybe have a $8 beer and a hot dog while waiting, before admitting there was a Tropical Storm.   They could have even blamed Fox!

Nope, they actually did it right for once.   Hooray for the Mets.

However, the Mets never get anything right - so if you had bought tickets for a Sunday afternoon game, you get to go on Sunday night (thanks to the ESPN which hates children) and if you bought tickets for a Saturday you get to go on Sunday afternoon.   They should've flipped those.  

So, I bought tickets to a game scheduled for 1:05 on Sunday.

ESPN, which hates children, moves the game to 8:05.   Sucks to be me.

If today's game is rained out, that game will be moved to Sunday 1:05.

So the people that wanted to go Saturday have to go Sunday.  The people who wanted to go Sunday afternoon have to go Sunday night.   Since the Saturday folks are screwed anyway, why not let the Sunday 1:05 folks go Sunday at 1:05?

If you are interested in um, "re-selling" your tickets at the official home of MLB scalping, they are going for $5.   There is absolutely no demand on Mets tickets.

According to Chris Russo on WFAN, players on both the Mets and Yankees were told at 6:15 pm Friday evening that the game was going to be postponed. Russo himself found out and had left at 6:50.

Meanwhile the fans were the last to find out, not being told until after the scheduled 7:05 pm start.

How much money was collected by the Yankees in concessions to fans who braved the elements? How about the money from the limited parking?

And what about all the parents with children that sat in the rain while the players they look up to were already getting dressed and on their way home.

Once again we have another example of how the owners and management really don't give a damn about the fans.
