Most Popular Articles On Mets Police (July 19)

Here's the weekly recap of the most popular articles on Mets Police last week, and as usual I mix in some things that I think deserve more readers.

The post that really stirred things up was a guest column suggesting the Mets retire #8.  The discussion focuses around retiring 8 for Carter and Yogi.   I don't agree with the choice, and Carter is a few pegs down my list of suggested #s.  (I would go 17 then 16 and would wait on 31 until we're sure he's not on Santa's bad list.)  I think a physical Mets Hall of Fame is a great idea, and will get into that tomorrow.

I am out of my mind at David Howard (Mets VP) saying that Old Timer's Day is a poor investment.   Here's what i think he thinks of you.

Mr. Howard needs to read my 5 friendly suggestions so the Mets don't lose their fanbase.

I still say we put together Old Timer's Day ourselves.  Some day I will have the time to do it - or the Mets can add it to my job when they finally hire me as Director of Franchise Integrity.  I'll be in charge of things like Banner Day, Old Timer's Day, arguing with Charlie Samuels, suggesting we not charge $30 for parking, and basically being the advocate for the fan.

I like that the Times came up with Virtual Banner Day!  I guess banner day is also a bad investment.

Does anyone really think 2009 isn't over?  I say Ya Cannot Believe.

Pictures of Citi Field are always popular, and I will have more this week:
Here is the recent Tour of The Mets Team Store
The compilation of Citi Field pictures
Yankee Stadium being demolished
The Uncensored Unofficial Guide To Citi Field
Inside the Acela Club

Paul McCartney was a big topic:
Here are some pictures of Citi Field from Saturday night's show.
Here is the seating chart.
Parking is $30 and you cannot bring an umbrella.

Over on the right side, scroll down and you'll see an easy way to follow the Mets Police on facebook.  Hopefully we can together spread the word and get the Mets to listen to their fans.
